Festival-goer dies at Kendal Calling
Cause of death is not yet confirmed
A 20-year-old woman died after the Kendal Calling festival last Friday (August 1).
Katie Jones was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and passed away the following day (August 2). The cause of death yet to be confirmed.
It is believed Jones, who was attending a festival for the first time, suffered a reaction after taking unspecified drugs.
Jones' parents paid tribute to their daughter, telling the Western Mail "fun-loving and vivacious" daughter who "was not a regular drugs user".
Festival organisers sent their "deepest condolences" to the family, adding that they were "deeply saddened by the tragic accident."
The festival, attended by 4,000 music fans, featured performances from Dizzee Rascal, Super Furry Animals and British Sea Power.
