Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand becomes a rapper

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has recorded a rap set to appear on the forthcoming album from Nia Jai – whose album 'Black Ice', is being reelased on the footballer'sown label White Chalk.

According to The Sun, the centre-back raps on one song on the album and has been offering Nia Jai, an ex-nurse from Burnage who won a talent contest organised by Ferdinand two years ago, ideas and opinions on the production of the album.

Ferdinand raps: "This is Rio Ferdinand/Make sure you don't sleep on Nia Jai, White Chalk's first signing/This girl spits out fire".

The defender has got involved in the mixing of the album too. Nia Jai said: "He's been in the studio and texts me ideas and opinions."

The album is set to be released in October.
