Facebook overtakes MySpace as biggest networking site

132 million people have signed up

Facebook has overtaken MySpace in terms of the amount of users who have signed up to its services, making it the biggest social networking site worldwide.

Around 132 million people are members of Facebook, after the amount of users it had increased by 153 per cent between June 2007 and June 2008.

In the USA the amount of users grew by 38 per cent during the same period, while the number of MySpace users grew by three per cent, reports CMU.

MySpace still offers more music-related services than Facebook, although it is rumoured that new Facebook functions to increase the amount of music available on the site are being planned.

i hv signed up for both, but i gotta admit it doesnt really worth my time. my whole point of having myspace is just to get artist updates (if they do update on myspace). facebook is primarily to connect with old friends, sorta let them know i'm not dead, i'm still alive....other than these, i can surive without both.

I'm still not getting a Facebook. It's disappointing enough that I went against my word two years ago and got a MySpace myself.
