But Peaches Geldof is nowhere to be seen

Hotly tipped newcomers Chester French played a sold-out show at Spaceland in Los Angeles last night (August 14), covering Smashing Pumpkins for an adoring crowd.

The Cambridge, Massachusetts quintet who recently signed to Pharrell Williams' label to record their full-length debut, gave a brief, high-energy set that got the packed house dancing.

Notably absent from the proceedings was Peaches Geldof, rumoured to have married guitarist Max Drummey in Las Vegas earlier this month. Drummey's wedding ring was also missing in action.

Sporting a blue blazer and red trousers, frontman D.A. Wallach did his best to get a rise out of the crowd despite his muffled vocals. "Get your asses shaking, it's loose booty evening here at Spaceland!" he shouted. The crowd cheered back in response.

The band concluded the night with a surprise encore of Smashing Pumpkins' 'Zero'.

Chester French played:

'The Jimmy Choos'
'She Loves Everybody'
'C'Mon'
'Bebe Buell'
'Not Over You'
'Beneath the Veil'
'Remember'
'Neal'
'Zero'

The band head to the UK to support N.E.R.D next week (August 18), and are set to return to LA's Spaceland for a second performance on August 28 before playing a handful of US festivals.
