Loud iPod listeners are 'the most annoying commuters'

New survey suggests iPod users are worse than other transport pests

A new survey has found that UK commuters who listen to loud music on iPods are the most annoying type of transport users, according to those polled.

The poll, carried out by Jetsleeper, found that those quizzed said loud iPod users were more annoying than commuters who used mobile phones loudly or those suffering from contagious viruses such as colds, reports The London Paper.

According to the survey, the second most annoying type of commuters were those who read broadsheet newspapers at full stretch on busy trains.

The third most annoying kind were those who fall asleep on transport and dribble on fellow passengers.

I have to agree. I was on a train to Bath on wednesday night and a woman who looked like she was in her 60s had her iPod on full blast. That was annoying enough in itself, but she was listening to Maroon 5. That's what I call noise pollution.

so do little toerags playing "smack dat" on a tiny, tinny mobile phone not count then? i'd take a commuter with an iPod ANY DAY of the week over someone who couldn't possibly be playing music for the enjoyment of it, but just to get a reaction because no one pays attention to them at home.

Surely, the most annoying people aren't Ipod users, but chavs who play shit music on their mobile phones on public transport, without earphones.

It's not those that listen to loud i-pod listeners that's the problem, it's the fact that they're using shitty earphones that come with the i-pod as they're too cheap to replace them!

i agree with caescarna, i really can't stand those chavs and rnb girls listening to stupid music on a high level or even without the earphones. I mean they try to look so tough and they listen to fucking Usher.

agree with most of the above, but surely the most annoying is the drunk neds on the last train, who babble the most unwitty crap and like to intimidate those around them who are less neddy?

As a Sony Walkman user do I not count among this. The assumption that every mp3 player is an iPod is riduculous. I wouldn't be suprised if Apple provided this info themselves, making sure it was specifically 'iPod'. Anyone over 20 remember webcasts? Overnight they were 'podcasts'. In addition, the people who said tinny mobile phone music is the worst are right.

The chav's with the chipmunk dance music without headphones are worse. Ipod listener's don't bother me, cos I've usually got my headphones in playing really really loud. lol
