Music stars set to enter 'Celebrity Big Brother' house

The new series of the reality show starts tonight

Former Sugababes singer Mutya Buena and rapper Coolio are among the contestants expected to appear on the new series of 'Celebrity Big Brother', which starts tonight (January 2).

The show, which airs on Channel 4, is also rumoured to feature Michael Jackson's sister La Toya, and Terry Christian, the former presenter of late night music programme 'The Word'.

This year's series is the first since 2007, when over 40,000 people complained to the television regulator Ofcom about derogatory comments made by Jade Goody towards another housemate, the actress Shilpa Shetty.

Other contestants on this year's series are expected to include Visage frontman Steve Strange, television personality Ulrika Jonsson and the actor Verne 'Mini-Me' Troyer.

'Celebrity Big Brother' launches on Channel 4 at 9pm (GMT) tonight.

Oh dear God, can we PLEASE have an end to these godawful programmes like Big Brother and X-Factor and the like. It's like some Orwellian and Warholian nightmare mutating on us. Please stop.

It's nothing to do with being intellectual, I've barely got any brain cells left, and I don't want to waste what's left of them on trashy telly.
