'Slumdog Millionaire' songs up for an Oscar
Bruce Springsteen snubbed in nominations list
Two songs from the film 'Slumdog Millionaire' have been nominated in the Achievement In Music (Best Original Song) category for the 2009 Oscars - but Bruce Springsteen has not made the shortlist.
Springsteen had been tipped for an Oscar for his song 'The Wrestler', the title song for the film of the same name starring Mickey Rourke, but did not make the three-strong nominations list, despite winning a Golden Globe earlier this month.
The 'Slumdog Millionaire' songs 'Jai Ho' and 'O Saya' are up for the award, alongside 'Down To Earth' from 'WALL-E'.
Elsewhere on the nominations list Rourke is up for the Best Actor gong, Kate Winslet is up for the Best Actress award, while 'Slumdog Millionaire' is nominated for Best Picture alongside 'Frost/Nixon' – but 'The Wrestler' missed out in that category.
