Rap mogul is fined

Suge Knight pleads guilty to battery charge against girlfriend

Former Death Row Records boss Marion 'Suge' Knight has pleaded guilty to a battery charge involving his girlfriend.

The notorious mogul was accused of punching Melissa Isaac and threatening her with a knife.

By pleading guilty to the battery charge, Knight has seen two separate drugs charges and a coercion charge against him dropped.

The hip-hop impresario was fined $340 (£235) for the battery charge and ordered to attend counselling sessions, reports BBC News.

Earlier this week, Knight was involved in a fracas at a Phoenix hotel that left him needing hospital treatment for broken facial bones. Police allegedly broke up the fight by using taser stun guns.

The rap mogul, who helped to launch the careers of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur, made the guilty plea on condition that three other charges against him were abandoned.
