Joe Satriani also signs up for Chickenfoot

Van Halen, Red Hot Chili Peppers men form supergroup

A supergroup featuring members of Van Halen and Red Hot Chili Peppers along with Joe Satriani are set to release an album and tour this year.

Chickenfoot will release a self-titled debut LP on June 5, before touring this summer.

The band features former Van Halen men Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and Satriani.

The group say the came together by "accident" after a series of jams at Hagar's club Cabo Wabo Cantina at Cabo San Lucas in Mexico.

The band's debut album, which will feature a unique "heat sensitive" sleeve that will reveal the artwork via touch, boasts the following tracklisting:

'Sexy Little Thing'

'Runnin’ Out'
'Get It Up'
'Down the Drain'
'My Kinda Girl'
'Learning To Fall'
'Turnin’ Left'

The band will then play a European tour. Their headline dates are:

London Shepherd’s Bush Empire (25)
Paris Olympia (29)
Madrid venue TBC (July 1)

Hamburg Grosse Freiheit (7)
Copenhagen Vega (8)


Tickets for the London show go on sale at 9am (GMT) on Friday (March 27).
