Leighton Meester, star of the TV show 'Gossip Girl', is set to release an album this autumn.

The actress has inked a deal with the Universal Republic record label and has been working in the studio with producers Polow Da Don (Usher, Fergie), Harvey Mason, Jr (Justin Timberlake, Pink) and Spencer Nezey, reports Billboard.

In a statement, the label described Meester's music as "electro-pop".

This isn't her first foray into music – last year she sung with Tony Bennett on the TV show 'Entourage'.
