UK DJ gang arrested over £200,000 iTunes royalty scam
Disc-spinners from London and the Midlands are implicated
The unnamed DJs are alleged to have placed their music on the download sites, and then used over 1,500 stolen US and UK credit card details to open new accounts and purchase it themselves.
They are thought to have generated around £450,000 in download sales in the scam. From these sales, the group was then able to claim back almost £200,000 in royalties.
The group, who are aged between 19 and 46, were arrested as a result of a joint investigation by the FBI and Metropolitan Police, reports the Guardian.
The investigation began in February.
