500 mushroom-laced peanut butter treats seized pre-Bonnaroo

Police raided house before drugs made it to festival

Police in Tennessee seized 500 peanut butter treats laced with hallucinogenic mushrooms that were intended to be sold at this weekend’s Bonnaroo Festival.

According to a report in a local newspaper, 35 pounds of Psilocybin was baked into the treats, that were going to be sold at $20 a pop at the event.

Police found the treats as well as marijuana, several guns and thousands of dollars in cash, when they raided the home of 22-year-old Charles Culver yesterday (June 9).

Culver and three others were charged with possession of Schedule I (hallucinogenic) mushrooms for resale, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia reports Murfreesboropost .

Beastie Boys, Phish and Bruce Springsteen are headlining the three-day festival, which takes place in Manchester, TN.
