Oxford Collapse split up

Sub Pop trio call it quits with final shows

Oxford Collapse split up

Sub Pop trio Oxford Collapse have decided to part ways, and will perform their last shows next month in the tri-state area.

The band released two albums via Kanine: ‘Some Wilderness’ and ‘A Good Ground’, before signing to Sub Pop for ‘Remember The Night Parties’ and ‘Bits’.

The band released a statement saying:

“After eight years, 450 shows, and four albums, we’ve decided that we’ve reached the end of the line. To paraphrase The Grateful Dead, “what a long, strange, eye-opening, stomach-bursting, heart-breaking, bittersweet, educational, enlightening, mind-numbing, ‘why-are-we-doing-this-shit?’ / ‘who-gets-to-do-this-shit?,’ absurd, amazing trip it’s been.” To paraphrase another sage poet, “you gotta know when to hold ‘em and know when to fold ‘em.”

The band will perform at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, NJ on July 17 and will play their last-ever show on July 18 at Under The Tracks on West 25th Street in New York.
