Teenager killed in T In The Park road accident

A teenager has been killed yards away from the T In The Park festival site after being hit by a lorry.

Lachlan Gillies, 17, from Errol, Perthshire was hit by a lorry on the A977 road next to an entrance to the Scottish festival, near Kinross, on Friday evening (July 10) at around 6:30pm (BST), reports STV.

At the time of the accident the road was busy, with both vehicles and festival-goers on foot heading into the site as the first day of musical action kicked off.

Tayside Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information, and have already spoken to some present at the scene at the time of the incident.

A spokesperson said: "A number of witnesses have been spoken to by Tayside Police officers and the Force would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time to contact 0300 1112222, or speak to any officer."
