'Yo Gabba Gabba!' recruit unsigned UK band for kids' show

Isle Of Man act Swound! write song for the US TV programme

Unsigned Isle Of Man band Swound! have been asked to write a song for cult US kids' TV show 'Yo Gabba Gabba!'.

The band follow in the footsteps of groups including MGMT and The Ting Tings in having their music feature in the show – although they are set to be the first unsigned act to feature.

'Yo Gabba Gabba!' regularly features musicians interacting with the show's colourful characters, often writing songs especially for the programme.

The episode featuring Swound!'s song will not be broadcast until next year but, in a statement, the band revealed that the track conveys a message "underlining the importance of both resting and eating jelly when you are ill".

Meanwhile, Swound! are set to release a new single, 'Predator 3', on November 2.

See Myspace.com/swound for more on the band.
