Sky wade into music streaming market with new online service

Sky are set to become the latest entrant into the online music streaming market by launching Sky Songs next Monday (October 19).

The company will go head-to-head with the likes of Spotify and We7, with a service will allow subscribers unlimited access to a song database of over four million songs, including the back catalogues of major record labels, EMI, Sony, Universal and Warner.

The streaming will be advert-free, with users offered either a £6.49 or £7.99 monthly subscription.

The former will entitle users to download-to-keep either one £6.49-valued album or ten songs. Subscribers who pay the latter monthly fee will get one £7.99-valued album or 15 songs a month.
