Photographer Kevin Cummins and Steven Wells honoured at music industry awards

Record Of The Day Awards celebrates journalists, press officers and photographers

Former NME photographer Kevin Cummins was honoured for a career in rock photography last night (November 26).

The snapper, who worked for NME for over 25 years – for ten years he was chief photographer and was responsible for a variety of images including the iconic Stone Roses paint cover (pictured) – picked up the Outstanding Contribution To Music Photography at the Record Of The Day Awards in London.

Other winners at the music industry event included press officer Alan Edwards, who received the Outstanding Contribution To Music PR award, and NME contributing editor Peter Robinson for his site Popjustice.com.

The night also saw late music journalism legend Steven Wells honoured with "a minute of noise" at the end of the ceremony.
