Truck Festival announces US Woodstock-inspired event
Oxford event will travel across the Atlantic in 2010
Truck Festival organisers have announced they are to take the event to the US for a Woodstock-inspired party in 2010.
The festival, which has run in Oxford for 13 years, will cross the Atlantic to host a similar event running from April 30–May 2 next year.
Initially, organisers say they are hoping for a 1000-person capacity, though they add, "Who knows what will happen?"
No acts have yet been announced for the festival, which is being billed as Truck America, but it has been confirmed it will take place at the Full Moon Resort, which is two hours from New York and three from Toronto. Organisers have pointed out that the venue is actually 30 miles closer to Woodstock than the original festival was.
Ash, Supergrass, Wild Beasts and The Candyskins all played Truck Festival in Oxford earlier this year.
