Chinese pop duo facing government fines for miming during live show
Miming onstage is banned following Olympics controversy
Two Chinese singers are facing fines for allegedly miming during a gig last year.
Yin Youcan and Fang Ziyuan are accused of lip-synching and face fines of up to £7,400, reports BBC News.
The firm that organised the show has claimed they are dancers and that they don't know where they are currently living.
Miming during live shows is banned in China by the Ministry Of Culture. As well as fines, professionals who are found to have mimed twice in a two-year period face having their performing licenses revoked.
The measures were introduced following the Beijing Olympic Games opening ceremony in 2008. During the show a Chinese girl mimed to the voice of another girl singer, who was not deemed pretty enough to perform.
