'Avatar', 'Sherlock Holmes', 'Fantastic Mr Fox' films get Oscar music nominations
'The Princess And The Frog' also gets the nod
Music from the films Avatar, Sherlock Holmes, Fantastic Mr Fox, Up and Crazy Heart has made the nominations lists for the forthcoming Oscars, it was announced today (February 2).
In the Music (Original Song) category, Randy Newman is nominated twice for his songs from The Princess And The Frog – 'Almost There' and 'Down In New Orleans'.
Also nominated in the category is Reinhardt Wagner's 'Loin De Paname', as is Maury Yeston's 'Take It All' (from Nine) plus Ryan Binham and T Bone Burnett's ('The Weary Kind' (from Crazy Heart).
The scores for Avatar, Sherlock Holmes, Fantastic Mr Fox, The Hurt Locker and Up are nominated for the Music (Original Score) category.
