The German singer in girl band No Angels, has been charged with causing bodily harm after allegedly having sex with three men without informing them that she was HIV positive.

Nadja Benaissa was originally arrested last April before a Frankfurt gig on suspicious of sleeping with the men between 2004 and 2006. Now she has been charged in Darmstadt, reports AFP.

One of the men she slept with has been diagnosed with the virus, it has been confirmed.

"She was well aware that any unprotected sexual contact can lead to the virus being passed on," prosecutors said.

If found guilty she faces up to 10 years in jail.
