The Sussex Rocks festival, which was due to take place May 6-7, has been cancelled after one of its biggest sponsors pulled out.
No bands had yet been announced for the event, though the promoters had promised “very big names.”
The Crawley based festival had hoped to pull in 60,000 people over its two days and the promoters are now looking for new backers in order to put on the event in 2012, reports the BBC.
"In the case of Sussex Rocks we're just a victim of the current financial situation really,” said festival organiser Tony Witton.
"We thought we'd done the hard part, we've got all the legal permission.”
