Indie music website Pitchfork is to be the subject of a new film.

Writer-director brothers Mark and Jay Duplass have apparently been shopping around a script for a new film that looks sure to make music critics everywhere uncomfortable.

Coming up through the indie ranks, the duo have been on the up, making last year's Cyrus with Jonah Hill and the forthcoming Jeff Who Lives At Home with Jason Segel. Now, they are turning their attention to the US indie site, according to the LA Times.

The story apparently concerns the middle-aged mother of an indie rocker who, after her son is killed in a car accident, seeks revenge on a Pitchfork blogger who had peddled online scorn upon him. Things get complicated when she discovers that the blogger is only a teenager. Susan Sarandon is said to be being courted for the role, and Hill is rumoured to be circling the project in some way.

The Duplass brothers began their film-making career with 2005 Sundance favourite The Puffy Chair, which followed a troubled couple on a road trip. Mark Duplass himself is an occasional actor, having appeared in 2009’s Humpday, about two heterosexual men who find themselves making an amateur porn film together.
