Hey Sholay have been crowned the winners of NME's Play @ Exit competition.

In a major talent search, we teamed up with the Exit Festival in Serbia, offering one new band the chance to play on one of the festival's 20 stages.

Bands uploaded their tracks via Soundcloud, and users voted for a shortlist of their favourites, with NME's Radar Editor picking the eventual winner. That winner emerged as psychedelic Leeds/Sheffield five-piece Hey Sholay. The band are about to put out a limited-edition debut single through Fierce Panda. You can listen to their track 'Goodbyes And Gold Teeth (A Song For Sparrows)' by clicking below.

The other finalists were The Swing Movement, Skeletons And The Empty Pocket, Catfish And The Bottleman and The Spector Effect.

Exit takes place July 7-10 in the Petrovaradin Fortess of Novi Sad, Voivodina, Serbia. Headliners include Pulp, Arcade Fire, MIA, Jamiroquai and Portishead.
