Sonisphere Festival is set for a mostly dry weekend, but will see rain on its opening day.

According to Metcheck, it is set to rain throughout most of Thursday (July 7) as revellers are making their way onto the site and for most of Friday (July 8). It will dry up by the evening though, so Slayer and Metallica shouldn't have to rock through the rain.

Saturday (July 9) is expected to be dry throughout and will even see some spells of sunshine, with highs of up to 18°. It'll cloud over in the evening, with temperatures falling sharply, but there's no predicted rain for Weezer and Biffy Clyro's sets.

Sunday (July 10) will be even hotter, with temperatures hitting over 20° during the afternoon, meaning Slipknot's headline set shoud take place after a day of sunshine.

Sonisphere Festival takes place this weekend (July 8 - 10), and will be headlined by Metallica, Biffy Clyro and Slipknot.
