US country singer Mindy McCready has gone missing along with her five-year-old son.
The missing persons report was filed yesterday (November 29) night in Florida. The singer has been given until tomorrow (December 1) by the authorities to return the boy, Zander, who is currently in the custody of McCready’s mother. McCready reportedly took Zander from her father's home during a visit, reports Billboard.
McCready, who has a history of drug abuse, appeared on Celebrity Rehab with Dr Drew last year and later in the same year was hospitalised after a suspected drugs overdose. In 2004 she was arrested for using a fake prescription to buy OxyContin and in 2005 her ex partner Billy McKnight was arrested and charged with attempted murder after beating her up. She was hospitalised twice that year after suspected suicide attempts. She again attempted suicide in 2008.
The singer has released five albums including her 1996 debut 'Ten Thousand Angels' and has sold over three million albums worldwide.
