Frankie Cocozza has got into an online spat with Wayne Rooney after he said the Manchester United footballer "stinks".

The former X Factor outcast, who was booted off the talent show after he allegedly boasted about taking cocaine in front of the programme's producers, took to his Twitter page to insult the striker.

He wrote:
#CelebsThatLookLikeTheyStink not really a celeb but I bet his pits are stinking, along with his breath @waynerooney.

The insult saw Rooney retaliate by tweeting back: "@FrankieCocozza sorry who are you again? Oh yeah I remember you're the kid who was on X Factor who couldn't sing."

Cocozza then onto to thank Rooney for "making his day" before adding: "Knew I'd hit a nerve. I don't like you at all."

Earlier this week, Cocozza reportedly gatecrashed The X Factor's end of series bash and got into a fight.
