Rapper Slim Dunkin may have been murdered 'over a piece of candy'

Police think hip hop artist was killed after a fight about item of confectionary

Rapper Slim Dunkin may have been murdered "over a piece of candy", according to the police.

Billboard reports that police officials are claiming to have taken witness reports which claim that Dunkin, real name Mario Hamilton, was shot and killed after an argument broke out over an item of confectionary.

Homicide detective David Quinn, who was recreating a play-by-play account of Hamilton's murder for WSB-TV, said:
Someone came in and struck him and a fight ensued. Now the information we're getting, and it's unconfirmed but, witnesses are saying that this whole thing started over a piece of candy.

Hamilton was killed outside a recording studio last week (December 16). The rapper, who has featured on a number of tracks by hip hop star Waka Flocka Flame and was a member of Gucci Mane's rap collective 1017 Brick Squad, was gunned down outside a recording studio in Atlanta.

At the time of his shooting, police major Keith Meadows said they were finding it difficult to "put the pieces of the puzzle together", adding: "It seems everybody witnessed something very different. We're just trying to go back and make sense of everything."

Slim Dunkin, who is thought to have been in his early 20s when he died, was signed to the Black Squad Monopoly record label and recently released a 20-track mixtape that featured the likes of Mane, Roscoe Dash and Pastor Troy.
