NME is hiring! We're looking for a Deputy News Editor to work across both the website and magazine.

It's a full-time freelance role working here in the office in Southwark. The successful applicant will be a fast, meticulous and tenacious news reporter and editor with a nose for hunting out great stories and delivering them to very tight deadlines.

Able to work as efficiently from a muddy festival field as you are from the NME office, you will already have great contacts within the music industry and be confident juggling the rolling news aspect of NME.COM with assisting the News Editor in planning and writing much of the weekly 'Up Front' section of the magazine, which includes longer comment, analysis and investigative pieces.

Experience in both online and print journalism as well as a grasp of web analytics and a passion for music are a must.

If you'd like to apply, email your CV to by Jan 13.
