Alabama Shakes to release debut album 'Boys & Girls' in April

Alabama Shakes are set to release their debut album, 'Boys & Girls', on April 9.

The album, which was recorded at The Bomb Shelter in Nashville and produced by the band themselves, will be released through Rough Trade in the UK. Blues soul fusion act Alabama Shakes were tipped by NME in our 100 New Bands You Have To Hear issue at the start of 2012.

The band, fronted by vocalist and guitarist Brittany Howard, are currently streaming the track 'Hold On' at their website, alabamashakes.com. Later this month the band will release a two-song seven-inch on Jack White's Third Man Records label, recorded at his studio in Nashville last year.

Alabama Shakes make their UK debut at an NME Awards gig on February 22 at London's Boston Arms.
