Download Festival organiser Andy Copping has ruled out ever booking an act with a hologram for the festival.

Holograms have become a major talking point ever since Tupac appeared as a hologram during Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg's set at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival last month. You can see a picture of the hologram on the right of your screen.

Speaking to Metal Hammer, Copping responded to a question about whether he'd ever book an act with a hologram by saying: "Absolutely not. If you're going to a live show, you want to see live bands with proper interaction. You're not going to see cartoons. I think the whole thing with Tupac and Dre and Snoop at Coachella was great, but it was a moment in time."

He continued: "Why would you want to go and see a fucking hologram? It doesn't sit comfortably with me at all. I don't get it."

Download Festival, which will be headlined by The Prodigy, Metallica and a reunited Black Sabbath, takes place over the weekend of June 8-10 at Donington Park. The likes of Soundgarden, Rise Against, Biffy Clyro and You Me At Six are also on the bill.

See Downloadfestival.com for more information about the festival.
