Gangnam Style singer Psy to address Oxford Union next week

'Gangnam Style' star Psy has been confirmed to speak at the Oxford Union next week (November 7).

The K-Pop star behind the global smash hit will speak to students about his success as well as the unique dance routine which accompanies the song. 'Gangnam Style' has attracted over 620m views on YouTube with over 4.5m 'likes'.

Speaking to BBC News, Oxford Union spokesperson Finbar McLoughlin said: "We're expecting the chamber to be full to capacity to hear what Psy has to say. It's great for our members to be able to welcome someone who has had a huge impact on life in such a short space of time."

Psy recently revealed this his follow up to 'Gangnam Style' will be recorded in English. Speaking to Newsbeat, Psy spoke about his future plans and revealed: "The second single is going to be in English. And the thing is, it's too much pressure to overcome 'Gangnam Style'. It's really hard.

“The problem is my music video is more popular than I am. That's a big problem for me right now, so I've got to overcome my music video first," he added. "I've got to come to the UK, I've got to go everywhere to promote myself, who I am and what I've done for 12 years in Korea."

Other speakers due at the Oxford Union next week include celebrity PR Max Clifford and pop band McFly.
