Nas is recovering after being hospitalised with severe vertigo.

The 39-year-old rapper fell ill while on a flight to New York, where he was scheduled to appear on Live! With Kelly and Michael. The hosts announced live on air that he was taken directly from the plane to hospital after suffering vertigo.

After receiving treatment for the balance disorder, which side effects include nausea and vomiting, the 'Cherry Wine' rapper informed fans on Twitter that he was discharged from the medical centre.

He tweeted:

Last month, it was revealed Nas is being sued for $10 million (£6 million) by a concert promoter who claims the rapper is responsible for his kidnapping after failing to appear at a gig in Angola. As a result of his no-show, American concert promoter Partick Allocco was reportedly kidnapped at gun point.

Nas returns to the UK on March 19 to play a gig at London's O2 Arena. The rapper has vowed to donate £1 of every ticket sold for the concert to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which was set up in 2011 to help vulnerable people in the UK.
