New bands, cult heroes and rock legends were out in force for our annual knees-up

The NME Awards 2013 took place last night (February 27) at Troxy, London, with new bands, cult heroes and rock legends all honoured across 22 different categories voted for by readers. Comedian Russell Kane hosted, with The Rolling Stones, Tame Impala, MIA and Haim. Also up for awards are Arctic Monkeys, David Bowie, The Maccabees, Biffy Clyro, Kasabian, Blur, Foals, Jake Bugg and Alt-J all nominated.

Johnny Marr picked up his award for Godlike Genius and closed the show with a live performance including collaborations with Ronnie Wood and The Vaccines' Justin Young. The Cribs were also on hand to accept their Outstanding Contribution to Music award and perform 'Mirror Kissers', the song NME.COM readers voted as their favourite of theirs.
