Touring member of Foxygen Elizabeth Fey – who joined the group last year – has taken to Tumblr - via Pitchfork - to shine a light on current turmoil within the band, whose core members are Fey's partner Sam France and Jonathan Rado.

In a lengthy blog post, which went online earlier today (July 25), Fey writes that she felt all the problems in the band were being blamed on her by Rado and fellow touring member Shaun Fleming. She wrote: "...Rado and Shaun blamed all the problems in Foxygen on me, I was the perfect scape goat: the only girl, a new member, a loud opinionated female. Rado said things like I was 'unprofessional' which is just a joke. I am unprofessional while Shaun Fleming was/is hitting on teenage girls all the time online, Joe just got jailed on the last tour for being drunk, and Rado couldn't even tell me any of his problems himself."

She added of Rado: "He tried to completely control Foxygen even though Sam wrote 95% of the last album. He came out with a solo album out of nowhere and didn't even tell Sam about it." She went on to say that her and France are starting their own musical project together, commenting: "He was threatened by Sam and I, saying it was, 'The Sam and Lizzie show'. Well we are going to start our own band (not saying it is replacing Foxygen)."

Fey finished the post by writing: "I really like Foxygen the music, just have some problems with the members." Pitchfork has contacted Foxygen's publicist, who confirmed that the band are not breaking up. Fey is not currently on tour with the group.

Rado, who runs the band's Twitter page tweeted earlier today in response to the post, writing:

Foxygen released their third album 'We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic' earlier this year. This is not the first time that band relations have appeared strained. Back in March Foxygen cancelled their UK and European summer tour, claiming that the "creative health" of the band depended on them not playing the gigs.
