Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have been revealed as the most streamed artists on Spotify in 2013.

The pair's track 'Can't Hold Us' was the most popular song on the music streaming service globally and their debut LP 'The Heist' was the most streamed album.

Avicii’s 'Wake Me Up' was the second most-streamed song of the year globally, with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis again at Number Three in the chart with 'Thrift Shop'. Daft Punk’s 'Get Lucky', which received the most streams in a single day, on April 20, was the fourth most popular track on the service.

'Thrift Shop' was also the most streamed song of the last five years, with over 160 million listens to date.

In the UK, the most streamed artist was Bastille, followed by Arctic Monkeys, Daft Punk and Calvin Harris. The most streamed track was Bastille's 'Pompeii', followed by Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' and Passenger's 'Let Her Go' in third place.
