Kelis, Jungle, Circa Waves announced for The Great Escape 2014

Jungle, Chlöe Howl, Royal Blood and Charli XCX are among the 100 artists announced for the Brighton festival today (January 22)

Kelis is one of 100 artists announced for The Great Escape festival today (January 22).

The singer will headline the Saturday night of the bash, which sees over 400 artists play between May 8 – 10, 2014 at 35 venues around Brighton.

Kelis will play Brighton Dome on May 10 in support of her sixth album 'Food', which is scheduled for release in April.

Other names to appear on the first line-up announcement today include Jungle, Chlöe Howl, Royal Blood, Carli XCX, Courtney Barnett, Circa Waves and Fat White Family. Check out the full list of names below.

Festival Director Kat Morris said: "This will be our 9th festival, and it really feels like the event has become stronger year on year. The Great Escape prides itself on showcasing the very best upcoming talent and we aim to produce a line-up which shows a true cross section of emerging artists, locally and internationally, and offer hundreds of incredible gigs, accessible to festivalgoers with just one wristband. We’re really excited by how this year's line-up is shaping up."
