The event this year takes place at 02 Brixton Academy on February 26. Tickets for the balcony and, for the first time ever, downstairs standing, can be purchased from today (February 6). Scroll down for full ticket details.

As revealed earlier this week, Blondie have been named this year's Godlike Genius and the band will pick up the award in person and also perform live at the the awards. Other artists performing on the night are to be announced shortly.

Previous winners of NME's Godlike Genius Award include The Clash, Paul Weller, The Cure, Manic Street Preachers, New Order, Dave Grohl, Noel Gallagher and, in 2013, Johnny Marr.

Music fans have cast hundreds of thousands of votes across 20 categories for this year’s awards. Arctic Monkeys lead the nominations this year with an outstanding eight. Haim follow closely with six nominations whilst Queens of The Stone Age, Lily Allen and Arcade Fire all have three. To cast your vote visit

Queens of the Stone Age will face competition from the likes of Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend and Haim in the category of Best International Band while Jake Bugg, David Bowie and Lily Allen will battle it out to be named Best Solo Artist.

Speaking about their three nominations, Haim say: "We are so excited to be nominated for this year's NME awards! This will be our first time, so please be gentle."

NME editor Mike Williams says: "The past 12 months of music have had everything – returning legends, era-defining singles, more albums with a claim to be modern classics than any year in recent memory and tons of massive live moments to celebrate."
