Drenge, Royal Blood, The Wytches and The Hold Steady also join bill for May festival

Albert Hammond Jr and Action Bronson lead the latest additions to this year'sLiverpool Sound City.

The Strokes guitarist and New York rapper are joined on the bill by Brooklyn band The Hold Steady and former Doves frontman Jimi Goodwin. Also lining up to appear at the Merseyside festival in May will be Drenge, Royal Blood, The Wytches, Fat White Family, Superfood, San Farmin and Lyla Foy.

Other artists confirmed to appear at Liverpool Sound City this year include Fuck Buttons, Clean Bandit, Kodaline, Jon Hopkins, Jungle, Girls Names, Thumpers, Traams, Wolf Alice and Courtney Barnett.

It was previously confirmed that John Cale and Thurston Moore will appear as keynote speakers at the festival, which takes place between May 1-3. They will now be joined on the bill of speakers by Aspect Ratio Music Director Vanessa Jorge and HBO Music Director Natalie Baartz who will be discussing how to place tracks into film and TV trailers including Game of Thrones, Zero Dark Thirty and Django Unchained.
