OutKast rapper Big Boi contributes 'Mother Of Dragons' to the mixtape, rapping about Khaleesi, the name for wife of the Dothraki leader. Its chorus repeats the line "Dungeons, dragons, kings and queens".

Elsewhere, Maybach Music rapper Wale contributes the song 'King Slayer' to the mixtape while Common's song is titled 'The Ladder'. Other artists on the mixtape include Daddy Yankee, Snow Tha Product, MC Bodega Bamz and Magazeen. Scroll down to listen to 'King Slayer' and click here to stream the mixtape in full.

Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, Wale drew similarities between the mixtape's blend of fantasy-inspired lyrics and samples from the show with the way that Wu-Tang Clan appropriated kung fu samples. "Twenty years ago, Wu-Tang was breaking ground," he said. "There are no limitations in hip-hop culture."

Big Boi, who says he has begun reading the books so he can get ahead of the plot, told the paper: "I'm really happy, I get to be part of the process of one of my favorite shows."

Lucy Martinez, a senior vice president at HBO, said the mixtape's mix of hip-hop, Latin and reggae music is an attempt to appeal to "multicultural audiences". "Our multicultural audiences are a very important part of our subscribers, and we don't want to take them for granted," she said.

The 'Catch The Throne' tracklisting is as follows:

Big Boi – 'Mother of Dragons'
Magazeen – 'Iron Throne'
Bodega Bamz – 'Win or Die'
Kilo Kish – 'Magical Reality'
Daddy Yankee – 'Born to Rule'
Dominik Omega – 'Arya's Prayer'
Dee Goodz – 'The Parallel'
Snow tha Product – 'Fire'
Common – 'The Ladder'
Wale – 'King Slayer'

Season 4 of Game Of Thrones starts in April.
