The top selling albums in the UK's independent record shops since last year's Record Store Day have been revealed.

Compiled by the Official Charts Company, the chart reveals the 40 most popular purchases over the last 12 months. Arctic Monkeys' fifth album 'AM' has sold more copies in Britain's record stores than any other album, with Daft Punk's 'Random Access Memories' and Robbie Williams' 'Swings Both Ways' coming close behind at Number Two and Three.

Elsewhere in the Top 40, Vampire Weekend and Savages are at Number 12 and Number 13 respectively, while Franz Ferdinand (35), Lana Del Rey (38) and Kurt Vile (40) also make the list. You can check out the Official Record Store Chart Top 40 on the Official Charts Company website.

Record Store Day 2014 takes tomorrow (April 19) with exclusive releases from the likes of Jagwar Ma, Temples, Brody Dalle, Brian Jonestown Massacre, David Bowie, Chvrches, Disclosure and many more. Meanwhile, Jack White is to make the world's fastest released record in celebration of the day. The former White Stripe will record the song 'Lazaretto' onstage in the 'blue room' during a show at his Third Man Records base in Nashville at 10am local time, recording direct-to-acetate a limited edition live version of the title track from his second solo album, 'Lazaretto'.

When White finishes recording, the masters will be taken to local record plant United Record Pressing, who will make up the 45rpm singles and the sleeves will be printed from photos taken of the recording. The records will then be sold back at Third Man Records and will continue to be printed and sold as long as there are fans waiting to buy them.
