Ariana Grande looks set to earn the first Number One on the Official UK Singles Chart since historic changes to the way they are compiled.

The US popstar's single 'Problem' , featuring Iggy Azalea, is currently Number One at the midweek point today (July 2). The final chart placings will be revealed on BBC Radio 1 on Sunday (July 6).

As of this week, the Official Singles Chart now combines traditional physical and download sales data with on-demand audio streams from services like Spotify, Deezer and Napster, with 100 streams being equivalent to one single purchase.

'Problem' has racked up a combined chart sales figure of nearly 67,000 so far this week, with only 1.7 percent of those being attributed to streams.

In addition to Ariana Grande, there are two other new entries on today's Official Singles Chart Update. Sia is new at Number Six with 'Chandelier' while, DJ Fresh is new at Number Seven with 'Make U Bounce' featuring British drum and bass producer TC and Little Nikki.

In the Official Album Chart, Australian pop-punk band 5 Seconds of Summer are currently on course to replace Ed Sheeran's 'X' at Number One with their self-titled album.

Other new entries on the Official Album Chart, which still does not factor in streaming data in its ranking, include David Gray (10), Bellowhead (11), John Barrowman (15) and Trey Songz (16).
