A man has allegedly shot his friend while they were filming a 'low budget' rap video in the Bronx, New York over the weekend.

The Daily Mail reports that CCTV footage inside a convenience store shows the unnamed rapper shooting the unidentified 37-year-old man, said to be his 'best friend', five times, before pistol whipping him. The victim is currently in hospital in a critical condition.

The men were apparently filming a hip-hop video when the incident took place. The shopkeeper, Ali Abdul, claims that the fight happened as the pair argued over who was the better rapper. "They were fighting over who's the star, who's better," said Abdul. "They were drunk. They spit at each other, then one guy pulled out a gun and shot the other guy five times."

The Daily Mail adds that police have not yet confirmed what the argument was about. CCTV footage shows five people walking over the victim's body, and police have also not revealed if any of those people were connected to the suspect.
