Suge Knight shooting investigation moved to LAPD homicide department
Reports also suggest that the former CEO of Death Row Records is refusing to cooperate with officers
As previously reported, Knight was one of three victims shot at a pre-MTV Video Music Awards party hosted by Chris Brown at the 1Oak nightclub in West Hollywood in the early hours of August 24.
Knight was shot six times in total, fives times in the stomach and chest and once in the arm. There has not been an official update on Knight's health, although BBC News reports that the co-founder of Death Row Records is seriously ill but is expected to survive. Two others victims – a 19-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man – are expected to make full recoveries.
The Los Angeles County Sherriff's Department confirmed to Billboard that there have been updates in the investigation but that they were not yet ready for release. However, they did confirm that no weapon had been recovered. Nor have any suspects been placed in custody.
Chris Brown himself has tweeted about the incident, distancing himself from any involvement.
It's disappointing that we as a society can't have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bullshit!!!— Chris Brown (@chrisbrown) August 24, 2014
