Suge Knight has spoken about getting shot at a recent pre-VMA party.

The co-founder of hip-hop label Death Row Records was at a party hosted by Chris Brown at Hollywood nightclub 1OAK on August 24 when shots were fired. Knight was hit six times in the stomach and arm.

Speaking for the first time about the incident, Knight told TMZ: "Even if I did [know], I don’t think that's really important — who pulled the trigger and who I seen pull the trigger. I'm doing extremely well. I'm happy to be doing well. Whatever happens, happens."

Despite his injuries, Knight was able to walk out of the venue with assistance from police. Three people were shot in the incident with one victim in a critical condition. Model Tyson Beckford and Black Eyed Peas' member were among those in attendance at the club, while rapper The Game is said to have become involved in an altercation with security guards earlier in the evening.

The 49-year-old hip-hop mogul continued: "One thing my father always taught me, no matter what it is, you never give up, you never quit if you start something. When you walk in a place, you walk in one way and no matter what goes on, you leave the same – as a man. I was shot, and I wanted to make sure I got to the right place to patch some of these holes up."
