Vincent D'Onofrio, an actor best known for his roles as Private 'Pyle' in Stanley Kubric's Full Metal Jacket and Detective Robert Goren on long-running TV series Law & Order: Criminal Intent, has unveiled his latest project: the spoken word LP 'Slim Bone Head Volt'.

A collaboration with violinist and composer Dana Lyn, the album, according to the press release, captures "the inner workings of a man gone mad with his own majesty". Officially released on Tuesday (March 3), 'Slim Bone Head Volt' is currently streaming via Soundcloud. Click below to listen.

The entire album – plus 13 tracks that didn't make the final edit – were recorded in two five-hour sessions, with each song captured in a maximum of three takes.

"Slim Bone Head Volt is a code name for the strange juxtapositions, randomness, and incongruity in art," said Lyn. "It is also actually an anagram for the exact opposite idea."
