Alt-J, Clean Bandit and Royal Blood nominated for Ivor Novello Awards

The 60th Anniversary Ivor Novello Awards will be held in London in May

The nominations for this year's Ivor Novello Awards have been announced with Wild Beasts, Clean Bandit, Royal Blood and Alt-J among the nominees.

The Ivors celebrate excellence in British and Irish songwriting and composing and are judged by the UK songwriting and composing community.

Alt-J are nominated for Best Contemporary Song for their track 'Every Other Freckle' and face competition from both FKA Twigs ('Two Weeks') and Clean Bandit, with their Number One hit 'Rather Be'. Clean Bandit are also nominated in the category of PRS for Music Most Performed Work alongside songs by George Ezra and Sam Smith.

Royal Blood, meanwhile, will contest the Album Award against Wild Beasts and Bombay Bicycle Club with their albums 'Present Tense' and 'So Long, See You Tomorrow' respectively.
