US President Barack Obama has launched his own official channel on Spotify.

Obama has posted two playlists through the White House on the streaming service.

The US President announced his official entrance onto Spotify by tweeting:

You can listen to his daytime and evening playlists on the streaming service.

His daytime collection includes Coldplay‘s ‘Paradise’, Florence And The Machine‘s ‘Shake It Out’, The Rolling Stones’ ‘Gimme Shelter’ and Aretha Franklin’s ‘Rock Steady’.

His evening playlist, meanwhile, features cuts from Beyonce, Van Morrison, Lauren Hill, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Mary J Blige and Miles Davis.

A blog on Spotify’s Tumblr page stated: “Today we are very excited to welcome US President Barack Obama and The White House to Spotify. The White House will be regularly curating playlists based on what the members of the West Wing are listening to.

“Over the years, the White House has continued to grow its social media presences and find new ways to connect with people all over the country through a range of platforms. On Spotify, you can expect to see the White House share playlists created by administration officials, as well as playlists curated around events and issues to engage the public and acquaint them with the people working in the administration.”
