Velvet Revolver cover Talking Heads at Download
Hollywood band also preview new songs during set
Velvet Revolver played a cover of Talking
Heads' classic 'Psycho Killer' at Download Festival 2007 this evening (June 8).
The Hollywood supergroup threw the track into a colourful set which also saw the band play songs by their previous bands.
They performed Guns N' Roses' 'It's So Easy' and 'Mr Brownstone' along with Stone Temple Pilots' tunes 'Sex Type Thing' and 'Vasoline'.
The five-piece also laced their set with three new songs - 'Let It Roll', 'She Mine' and 'She Builds Quick Machines' - taken from their forthcoming album 'Libertad'.
The hour-long performance also saw the band roll through a series of tracks off their debut album 'Contraband' including 'Set Me Free' and ballad 'Fall To Pieces'.
The show saw singer Scott Weiland make two costume changes with the frontman sporting a militaristic police cap and black leather jacket at the beginning of the show before he changed into a white fur jacket at the close.
During the set he announced to the crowd: "Festivals are for reminding us we have the power. Festivals are also about getting fucked-up and getting laid."
The five-piece rounded off their their set with a rousing rendition of hit single 'Slither'.
