Scott Weiland says the prospect is daunting
Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland has revealed that he has signed a publishing deal to write his autobiography.
The singer, who also fronted the band Stone Temple Pilots, said that the prospect of writing the book is overwhelming.
"It's a weird thing," he told Reuters backstage at the American Music Awards. "You make a lot of records, write a lot of songs, but all of a sudden you go into a whole different vein, and it's a little bit scary to dive into."
Weiland was with his bandmate Slash when he made the announcement. The former Guns N' Roses guitarist just completed a memoir of his own, and gave Weiland some advice, saying: "Just jump in, and once you get going you can't stop."
Weiland will reportedly collaborate on the memoir with David Ritz, who has co-written several music-related autobiographies with artists including Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles.
